This Living Room was transformed inexpensively by changing the shape and materials of the 1950’s era fireplace, an economical alternative to tearing it out. Enclosing the sides of the firebox, filling the space under the cantilevered hearth, matching the hearth slate at the surround, and adding a mantel and trim contributed to a “new” room!
